The Hub LAC joins the Implementation Council of the Global Commission on Evidence to Address Societal Challenges.

07 Mar 2024

The Hub LAC is pleased to announce its integration into the Implementation Council of the Global Commission on Evidence to Address Societal Challenges.

The initiative, created by McMaster University in Canada, involves contributions from various organizations and civic leaders worldwide to promote and lead efforts to implement the Commission’s 24 recommendations and three priorities.

In addition to the recognition of the Hub LAC as a partner organization in the effort to improve the use of evidence to address social challenges, participation in meetings ensures the exchange of experiences, the opportunity to interact with other organizations, make proposals, and develop activities focused on the synergistic implementation of goals.

“We celebrate our inclusion in the Implementation Council of the GCE. Thanks to this, the Hub LAC will be able to expand its networking, sharing knowledge and experiences with the most important global organizations in the field of Evidence-Informed Policymaking (EIPM). This will allow us to continue our mission of promoting transnational and interdisciplinary collaboration for the institutionalization of evidence-informed decision-making in the Latin American and Caribbean region.” Duber Osorio: Coordinator/Researcher at Hub LAC.

For Laura Boeira, Director of the Veredas Institute, which is also part of the Commission, “the Hub LAC gains significant international visibility by joining the Council, especially reaffirming its commitment to strengthening evidence support systems, improving the global evidence architecture, and placing evidence at the center of everyday life for everyone.”
